So I can sleep in a closet! 😄
What is suppleness?
Suppleness means being able to stretch my muscles and bend my joints through a wide range of motion without discomfort or injury.
Flexibility allows me to :
- Prevent injuries from sudden or intense movements.
- Allow for wider, more fluid movements.
- Maintain some postures.
- Improve sporting performance.

Causes of lack of flexibility
- Lack of physical activity.
- Emotional wounds.
- Lack of regular stretching.
- Overweight.
- Illness.
- Injury or trauma.
- Malformation.
- Blood circulation disorders.
Natural solutions
There are a number of ways in which I can gain lasting flexibility.
Stretching
Stretching helps to:
- Lengthen muscles.
- Relieve tension.
- Increase joint mobility and muscle elasticity.
Static or dynamic stretching should be performed regularly, preferably after a sports session or when not exercising.
The ideal duration is 20 seconds per muscle.
I can do it myself, or get help from a professional such as a physiotherapist.

Emotions
My emotional wounds become somatized in the body, in the form of energetic blockages.
These blockages lead to numbness, contractures and stiffness.
Introspection enables me to heal myself emotionally, which in turn frees my body.
In this way, I can regain suppleness.
I discover how to deal with my emotions.
Foods
Here’s a list of foods and supplements associated with tendons and muscles health that can potentially contribute to greater flexibility:
- Nuts.
- Bananas.
- Almonds.
- Collagen.
- Magnesium.
- Legumes.
- Vitamin D.
- Zinc citrate.
- Apricots.
- Spinach.
Sport
Regular exercise improves flexibility.
People who stop exercising gradually lose their mobility.
It’s best to combine strength and flexibility, by combining strengthening exercises, stretching and other activities.
Joint detox
Joints play a crucial role in my body’s suppleness.
A gentle joint detox helps release toxins and restore my range of motion.
Chi Nei Tsang
Strange as it may seem, an abdominal massage can have a positive effect on flexibility.
Chi Nei Tsang is a practice originating in Asia, involving massage of the internal organs.
Each organ is connected to a muscular and tendinous pathway.
Tensions often originate in the belly. They are also linked to a lack of blood flow, reactivated by pressing certain points.
